Cut-up technique is a literary form or method in which a text is cut up at random and rearranged to create a new text.

(original text): If there is truth in the saying that there is honour among thieves, and also that many hands make light work, then why is there no Thieves’ Guild? An ‘entrepreneur’ by the name of Darren Lightfinger had this very thought, and is now recruiting guild members to help him build a splendid subterranean guildhall. To this end he is tasking rogue adventurers with ‘rescuing’ a valuable ‘artifact’ in our latest quest, Buyers and Cellars.

My attempt to try:

If there is honor in truth  the saying that there is  among thieves, and also that  hands make many light work,no Thieves then why is there  Guild? Darren an ‘entrepreneur’ by the name of  now Lightfinger had this  splendid thought, and is recruiting guild members to help him build a very subterranean guildhall. To this end he is ‘rescuing’ adventurers  tasking rogue  with a valuable ‘artefact’  our in  latest quest, Cellars and Buyers.

Before going any further there is actually a band called surrealism (http://www.myspace.com/srlsm) ironically their genre is Progressive/Experimental/Metal.

It’s true that not everyone is entirely a metal fan, but this type of music (consisting on many inhales and exhales) goes on with the mood of “things”  and example of this is “wecamewithbrokenteeth” who don’t use lyrics at all but tell a story with just they vocals, drums and guitars!

How surrealism link to metal is quite straight forward, it is a “nightmare” stated by most gone extremely wrong. Whether it could be saving (if you could understand what they are really saying which man people do have the skill to) it tells a story of another kind away from the lyrics which is what makes it so surreal to me.

Stuart Ross is a Canadian fiction writer (along with poet, editor and creative writing instructor). He’s Born in Toronto (north end) on the year 1959 but grew up in New York. He started writing at a very young age published his first book at the age of 16 by what is now known Annick Press, The Thing in Exile, contained many teen writers (Steven Feldman and Mark Laba).

“Writing is about lying, and perhaps more extreme the lie, the better” – Stuart Ross

“It is hopefully clear at this point that Recordism is not an entirely new way of eating cheese. It is instead an entirely new way of eating leftover potato salad!” – William A. Davison

From watching the video of he “head” performance by Lauri Anderson, i just wanted to know more and hear more. From what you have been doing in class, it has all been with voices, but sound…is everywhere that knocking of the head done by Ms. Anderson did make me realize this. I dug out an interview, and I agree with it. She is an artist, sound artist but what she would call herself, a spy! Anyways I found Laurie Anderson’s work very amusing and fun. She has created her own instruments, i mean this teaches us further more that there is no limitation of sound music and who knows what this knowledge would generate, for Laurie it was the creation of these instruments and a wide range of musical stories.

From watching this video of sound poets performing and creating this atmosphere of where animals rule, their influence must me how birds interact and create sounds without other interference. It puts a picture of a jungle in my head, something you’d probably hear there but it also sounded like a story creating every  single scene with only sound. They are like sound artist because sound artist tell stories with the use of sound just like how painters tell stories with the use of their brush. They are different, just like any sound artist, because they don’t share the same story, sound wise they don’t sound like any other, and scene wise…well I haven’t heard another artist yet performing such a scene as this.
